

Purpose of iLabs

Each iLab is designed to identify real-world industry challenges, develop innovative solutions, and transform those solutions into entrepreneurial ventures that enter our cohort program for technical assistance, including marketing, legal, accounting, and business training support.
The 2150 Center for Innovation, Commercialization & Growth is a national initiative building HBCU-centered innovation ecosystems through hands-on “iLabs” focused on real-world problem-solving in sectors such as Public Policy, Public-Private Partnerships (P3), Energy, Health and Artificial Intelligence.
OUTCOME
Development of research and use cases that support workforce training, business startups, and product development.
Creation of the Alabama Workforce Pathways diploma opportunity for high school students and a certificate-todiploma pathway for college students.
Establishment of an internship pipeline to job placements, supported by scholarships and work-study programs.
